The debut full-length by this Russian band. Authentically old school yet undeniably energetic, “Posthumous Imprecation” is a tour de force of dark, deadly Death Metal of a most 90’s vintage. Whether it’s the aesthetic apex of the very early 90’s or the oft-overlooked rumblings of the late 90’s, Void Monuments construct crushing towers of sound that shoot off into dusty catacombs and primordial slime alike. Sonic signposts are aplenty -Malevolent Creation, Sinister, The Chasm, Monstrosity and Cenotaph, among others- but rarely on “Posthumous Imprecation” is there a moment that’s overly familiar nor fawning; this is simply stout, strong-songwriting Death Metal!
