On this album, the mastermind Stigmatheist melts down his dissonant guitar marches, monstrous growls and throat singing chants into an amalgam, fusing ritual atmospheres with Funeral Doom, also raging with rare blackened explosions. Following the conception of his previous releases, Stigmatheist continues to improve his sound, finding new spaces for expansion and transformation, filling the conquered emptiness with ultra-black hole heaviness. Extensive use of various ritual instruments, including a signature dan moi (Vietnamese jaw harp) and the Aztec death whistle, Stigmatheist manages to create an even deeper atmosphere of an endless doom ritual, inducing a paralytic embracing of the listener with its almost 70 minutes plunge into the abyss. |
